Moderno Stainless Steel Vegetable Steamer Review

Moderno Stainless Steel Vegetable Steamer Review

Purchase from Amazon here.
We eat lots of veggies in our household, since my son actually likes a lot of them. We typically buy canned as it is the easiest to prepare for a toddler, but I know as a mother, it lacks in some healthy properties. Fresh usually is too hard for him to enjoy without me fearing he can't chew it or choke on it. I've entertained buying fresh and boiling, but that removes a lot of the properties of the vegetables too.

When I found out about this product, I was excited. I hadn't thought about steaming before!

Steaming cooks the vegetables without removing vitamins and minerals as drastically as boiling and canned. You can steam til they fall apart, or just enough to make it crunchy but not too hard. I prefer crunchy, but not too hard. My son get the fall apart.

I have used it to do potatoes. I steamed them in the pan until they were fork tender, then split the yield. Half I just salted, peppered and buttered and served. The other half I made amazing mashed potatoes with cheese. I have cooked peppers and onions with mushrooms, cabbage, and celery.

All you do is place the steamer in a pan with 1-2" of water, and place your vegetables inside it. Get the water to boiling, and cook to desired tenderness. That easy!

Clean up is a breeze if run under water shortly after cooking. So bits don't dry out and stick.

There is a piece in the center that can be used to pick up with tongs. So you don't get a steam burn.
I received this product in exchange for a fair, honest, and unbiased review, which 100% is original to me.
